When my dentist in Orlando told me that a nightguard to prevent me from grinding me teeth would cost me $495, I nearly fell out of the dentist chair. Thankfully I went home and did some research elsewhere. The nightguard research took me several days, but eventually I found a nightguard for the same high quality, but for the best price $225 and I got the dentist to agree to give me the mold to keep and later reuse along with it!
Most dentists like to throw away or intentionally break the mold so they can get you years later to come redo another nightguard, which means more money for the dentist over time. Although my dentist agreed to give me the mold from which the nightguard was made, the lab broke the mold before returning it. Of course there might be a bit of an economic incentive involved here for the lab to break the mold before completing the design of the nightguard.
Don’t kid yourself, the American dream has dollar signs every step of the way and drives consumer service (or the lack thereof).
Thankfully when I went to pick up my nightguard from my dentist and noticed the mold was broken, the dentist was kind enough to have his staff make me another mold to pick up in a couple days when it was ready. This type of service and attention to detail to serve the customer is rare in dentistry without exorbitant fees associated with every miniscule service.
That being said, if you’d like to know the dentist in Central Florida that charges only $225 for a nightguard, contact me after you have deposited $25 into my paypal account at RevivingNations@yahoo.com (let this serve as my written guaranty and promise to you to deliver) and I will promptly reply with the dentists name and phone number.
I used the nightguard for the first time last night and unlock the 3 other plastic nightguards I bought at Walmart (for $20 each) and chewed right through, this one was durable, never fell out of my mouth, plus it didn’t stretch out my face.
What good is a nightguard if you need plastic surgery afterward!
If you are too cheap to provide me $25 to save you over $200 on a nightguard that works, lasts, and keeps you from grinding cavities into your teeth (my last cavity from grinding this March cost me $165 at my dentist) …then please don’t bother contacting me. Besides to save over $200, I should be charging you at least $50, but I thought I’d be a nice guy and help some people out. If you don’t value my time, please don’t write as I won’t reply.

ps. I had to drive a bit just outside of Orlando where I live into a bordering county to get the mold made and wait a week later to pick up the nightguard. Yet the drive for me was under an hour, which is worth it to save over $200 when times are tough economically. The good news is this dentist also gives you the first visit for free in the event you need to get your teeth evaluated for a check up as well.
pss. As I myself am extremely skeptical, I phoned this dentist and spoke to the receptionist numerous times confirming the $225 price for the hard (not soft plastic – which they have for about half the price) clear designed nightguard. There was one fee and one fee only, which was $225 I paid after getting the mold done, then a week later I picked up the nightguard at no charge (having paid already).
I resisted a nightguard for years when my dentist tried to sell me one, thinking it was just another money making scheme. But when I began seeing sizeable holes appear in my teeth and noticed increased pain and sensitivity to hot and cold drinks and food, I ended up spending $165 to fill a couple cavities in one tooth. Hence the investment in a nightguard began to make sense to preserve my great teeth and smile.
