As a neglected and abused child myself, who was rescued by my maternal grandfather, I can relate to men & women and encourage them to give of their time and resources to support your organization.
My mother was a drug addict and an alcoholic who neglected me growing up. My mother was usually in one of three places: a bar getting drunk, jail for breaking the law, or a mental ward for acting stupid.
After my father and stepmother obtained custody of me in 5th grade, I experienced a different kind of abuse and harshness from my 2nd mother who was cold and rough toward me.
Thankfully my grandfather intervened and visited me every weekend to give me a couple days away from my stepmother, who so tormented me I was ready to commit suicide by the age of 12.
I am the author of several books including “Breakthrough For a Broken Heart” and the upcoming “Sexual Assault & Date Rape Prevention”.
