Tiger Woods is desperately paying for playing.
Yet let we who are without sin cast the first stone. On that note may all of Tiger’s accusers be silenced.
God help Tiger, Elin and the kids get through this difficult season.
As for transgressions, we all are guilty of the same and without sin.
I commend Tiger on his website for going public acknowledging and apologizing for his transgressions. Acknowledging mine as well, I have no desire to beat a man while he is down. On the contrary, the cross of Christ is a judgment free zone where all accusers are silenced (John 8:10) and there is hope for the undone, unwretched and broken in need of healing and redemption.
We who are spiritual ought to be quick to show our love, compassion and support for those overtaken by transgression and in the spirit of meekness consider ourselves also [remembering that we too are weak:] lest we too be tempted and fall hard (see Galatians 6:1).
Christ is the way out of darkness and the transgressions that ensnare our souls. Call upon Christ Jesus who saves to the uttermost and makes the foulest clean and pure within by His sacificial blood shed on the cross and mighty Holy Spirit that brings about a glorious liberation and resurrection for all who believe.
Yet for the redeemed to cross over and get out of the sin that so easily ensnares us all (Hebrews 12:1), we must be reminded that “the way of the transgressor is hard” (Proverbs 13:15) and daily endeavor to “bring forth fruit worthy of repentance” (Luke 3:8) lest we return to our former ways like a dog to its vomit (2Peter 2:22). May God’s grace and lovingkindness empower us all to happily and wholeheartedly pursue Him, love people and redeem the lost.
My writing is merely an observation of the repercussions of wrongdoing to warn myself and everybody else lest we too fall in a similar way (Galatians 6:1). For we who live in flesh and blood are weak and tempted likewise daily. Jesus Himself said, “Pray that you do not enter into temptation for the body is weak, but the spirit is willing” (Matthew 26:41).
Nevertheless if and when we fall {God help us not to I pray}, we have an advocate with the Father – Jesus Christ the righteous (1John 2:1). Christ came not to condemn (John 3:17), but to lift us all up out of our mess and give us a message of hope for the world.
Christ is the end of sin when we receive Him, as the Lord by the Holy Spirit comes within us to inhabit our hearts and empower us daily to govern our minds and harness our bodily appetites. The only way to consistently and continually conquer the flesh is through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13; Zechariah 4:6). Pray Tiger and all those struggling will experience the glorious liberation and power of the resurrection found in Christ Jesus.
Pray for Tiger and Jesus Christ to powerfully visit him as he endeavors (according to his own admission – http://web.tigerwoods.com/news/article/200912117801012/news/) to be “a better husband, father and person”.
I predict after this season of suffering that Tiger will achieve self-mastery, marital reconciliation and shine even brighter than before receiving standing ovations for his humility and willingness to work on being a man of integrity. God help us all to do likewise.
